Preparation.
Please ensure that items of clothing are ironed where necessary and remain free from crumpling in transit.
I always suggest avoiding bright coloured patterns or logos, these will distract your viewer from the most important thing in the frame, your face. Also thin strapped tops are largely unflattering for a ‘headshot’.
What I would encourage is to bring three different looking smart tops of varying necklines (e.g. shirt/blouse, jumper/top, V-neck and standard) and three more casual in appearance which are also different to each other, we’ll probably end up shooting three or four but it provides us with plenty of options. Importantly, bring clothes that you LOVE, clothes that make you feel like you rock! The sharing of that amped up energy makes for a fun and confidence boosting session.
For Corporate clients, please wear what you’d wear to work or if you wish to ‘elevate’ your look, wear something that’ll represent what you wish to project. For example, if as man you normally wear a shirt to work, undone at the collar, but wish to elevate your look, please feel free to come to your session in a suit, shirt and a tie.
Please arrive with your make-up applied (ladies) and your hair as you’d like to be shot, well-groomed/styled. On the point of make-up ladies, ‘less is definitely more’ - the best look is a natural glowing vibe, utilising colour that matches and complements your natural skin tone. If you’re a guy with facial hair, it should also be well groomed, (I’m secretly jealous of a full well-groomed beard!). Things that can help your skin look its best are: drinking plenty of water a few days prior to your session and on the day of and a good moisturising skincare routine, guys included and guys, for your beards, massage in some beard oil ahead of the session so that it looks really healthy.
I hope that helps and I look forward to seeing you on the day.
